As the saying goes, when our pets depart, they cross "Rainbow Bridge", where they await our joyful reunion.
They are such a special part of our lives and saying goodbye to them is a truly heartbreaking experience. This sun catcher was designed in loving memory of my beloved Howie cat, who crossed the "rainbow bridge" in September 2017. I created this keepsake to always remind me of his loyal companionship.

If desired, cremains can be included in this design. A Collection Kit will be provided to collect approximately a teaspoon of cremains. Only a small amount collected will be used, as the glass can only tolerate a dusting between layers. Any cremains not used will be returned with finished memorial items.
Each strip of color is measured and cut by hand, arranged side by side on a base of clear glass and fused to become one flat piece of glass. The heart and paw prints and curved "rainbow" design are achieved through 2 additional kiln firings. In 7 beautiful jewel tones, when the light passes through the transparent glass, it creates a colored rainbow shadow on the surface below.
The heart design with 4 paw prints is painted onto the glass with a specialty glass paint* and adheres to the glass in the high temperatures of the kiln and will not fade, chip or scratch.
*Customization with a name up to 8 characters is available and uses the same high temperature glass paint as the heart and paw design.
From design stage to finished product, this piece takes approximately 80 hours to complete.
