"It's Been A Slice" Coaster

These "It's Been A Slice" fruit slice coasters make a very unique gift for a special teacher, a going away gift for that important person in your life, or a treat yourself to brighten up your patio or dining table. This design is very solid and durable for long lasting use and large enough for even the most oversized coffee mugs!
 
Each coaster consists of 3 layers of glass - the bottom solid color circle in orange, green or yellow, a slightly smaller white circle for the inner "rind" of the fruit and then the transparent circle cut into 8 triangles for the top layer to form the flesh of each fruit.  Each circle was cut individually by hand, then any rough edges ground down with an electric grinding tool.  The glass was then washed to remove any residue and each layer stacked and assembled.  The finishing touch was to add a dusting of fine white crushed glass around the outer edge of the transparent glass to give it a bit of texture for the outer "rind".  4 acrylic bumpers applied to each to prevent coaster from sliding on surfaces.
 
Hand wash recommended, using regular dish liquid. Can be used outdoors in fair weather, but it's advised to bring indoors when not in use.

FINISHED APPEARANCE: Since all my pieces are cut by hand, finished appearance may differ slightly from listing photos.  I always do my best to create pieces that look nearly identical to the sample photo.
 
From design stage to finished product, this dish is fired in small batches, with each batch taking approximately 28 hours to create through one kiln firing.
 
My pieces are all cut by hand and kiln-fired in my home studio.  They are created with great time, care and attention and each order is carefully inspected once complete to ensure that each item is free from damage or defect prior to shipping.  I will package them with care to ensure they arrive safely to you.
