Aqua & Oxidized Gold Decorative Bowl

Color: Oxidized gold and aqua with bubble design

With a stunning pattern of bubbles between glass layers and an organic edge, this gilded bowl features an oxidized gold finish that will add a beautiful design element to any room in your home.  
 
Once cut and assembled, this bowl was placed into the kiln and heated to nearly 1480F where it emerged as a flat piece of glass measuring approximately 12” diameter.  An electric grinder was then used to smooth out the rough edges before it returned for a second and final firing, where it was placed on top of a mold and "slumped" to give it this bowl shape. 
 
From design stage to finished product, this bowl took approximately 75 hours through two separate kiln firings to complete.

My pieces are all cut by hand and kiln-fired in my home studio.
