WORKSHOP SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Haven Glass Studio is committed to a safe creative environment using safe work practices.
There are many elements to glass work that require various safety protocols. Glass can be hazardous without the proper use of PPE.
Depending on the task, I routinely use high quality safety glasses, respirators, disposable dust masks and gloves, work gloves, face shields and hearing protection in my studio at all times and each workshop will adhere to the same safety protocols.

The following safety PPE is required and will be provided:

SAFETY GLASSES
Required at all times. Glass shards can cause eye injuries from flying particles.
PARTICULATE DUST MASK
Required when working with any type of crushed or powdered glass or other particulate matter. Glass creates fine particulate matter that can linger in the air. Exposure to dust inhalation can cause serious and permanent damage to your lungs.
GLOVES
Required when reaching into glass shard containers. Glass shards can cause skin lacerations from sharp edges.

DRESS CODE
Closed toed shoes and long pants required.

AIR QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS
A HEPA filter system is now a standard protocol in each workshop setting to remove airborne particulate matter, such as glass dust, as well as any other airborne hazards (including from airborne virus particles) to ensure an additional level of mitigation for participants.
